8. What are the latest trends in kitchen design? There are both pros and cons to following trends. Following trends can give your kitchen a modern and fresh appearance, providing the latest innovations and creative ideas. However, there is potential that the current trend can have a relatively short lifespan. What's popular today may become outdated quickly, requiring frequent updates or renovations which can be costly and exhausting. Our best advice is to find balance. Incorporating timeless elements into your design that provide a foundation, while allowing for the infusion of trendier elements that can be updated more easily without a complete overhaul. Timeless elements may include natural wood, stone, and metals like brass or bronze that add warmth, texture, and durability to a space. They evoke a sense of authenticity and connection to nature. It's also essential to consider your personal preferences, needs, and the functionality of the space or product in question rather than blindly following trends. It's often helpful to consult with a professional kitchen designer or cabinet professional to find the best fit for your space.

9. Should I hire a professional contractor or DIY my kitchen remodel? That’s a hard question to answer simply because it depends on your skill level, the time you have available to give, and the scope of the project. In an effort to alleviate future problems and unneeded expenses, it’s best to be aware of some of the challenges you may encounter before starting the project. Some challenges may be unique to you and some may be more generic. The real takeaway here is to be honest with yourself and trust your instincts, this can be accomplished by asking good questions of yourself and the professionals you work with.

If hiring a professional is an option for you and your budget, it’s best to find a professional that meets your needs and communication style. Effective communication is crucial for a successful project. A good contractor or designer should be responsive to your inquiries, clear in their communication, and able to explain the project details and timeline in a way that you can appreciate.

10. What's the difference between framed and frameless cabinets? In general terms framed cabinets have a face frame around the front of the cabinet box, while frameless cabinets do not. The choice depends on your aesthetic preference and the desired level of access to the cabinet interior.

In framed cabinetry, the door hinges are attached to the face frame, which can give the cabinet strength and sturdiness. Partial ½”  and full overlay, as well as inset cabinet doors, are an option with framed cabinets, giving you many design possibilities for creating a customized look for your cabinetry.

Frameless construction is sometimes referred to as “full access” or “European construction”. Frameless cabinets can offer greater accessibility by eliminating the face frame. Instead, it must rely on a thicker box construction for stability. A full overlay is the only available option, with hinges attached directly to the sides of the cabinet box. An inset appearance can be accomplished with additional side paneling, however, traditionally a frameless cabinet construction allows for a tight fit where the door and drawer fronts are primarily the only element visible from the front.

There is no perfect fit for everyone. It’s important to understand that not all cabinet manufacturers are created equal. Both options can either be masterfully or poorly constructed. It’s best to understand the differences in the manufacturer as well as general construction type. We offer both framed and frameless cabinetry and encourage our clients to schedule a visit at our showroom if they are looking for more clarification on how our cabinets are constructed and what makes our product so appealing to our clients.

11. What are the different types of cabinet door styles?
Common cabinet door styles include a raised panel, a flat panel, or a slab construction. Each style has its own aesthetic and can contribute to the overall look of your kitchen. Most of our door styles are considered standard with the exception of mitered doors, applied molding or custom designs. The options available are truly unimaginable. Inspiration pictures are a great resource in the process of selecting a door style.

12. What materials are used in your cabinet construction? Our cabinet box is always constructed with plywood sides and shelving. On framed cabinetry, a solid wood face frame is standard to match the door selection. Door construction can vary based on the wood and finish selection. The answer to this question can be extensive depending on the true nature of the question. We are confident in the quality of our product and we encourage any and all questions regarding our cabinet materials.

13. How can I maximize storage within my cabinets? Upgrade to features like pull-out trays, lazy Susans, and built-in organizers. Consider customizing cabinets to make the most of available space. We incorporate a number of different manufacturers for some of these features. Some options available include Blum, Rev_A_Shelf, Hardware Resources, Hafele, Omega National Products, InnovaShelf, Docking Drawer, Richelieu, Top Knobs, and Century Components amongst others.
